Manitoba

Manitoba’s Best Golf Courses

Manitoba largely flies under the radar in Canadian golf. It has not had a course listed within the national rankings by SCOREGolf in over a decade. Yet, work by golden age architects Alister MacKenzie, Donald Ross, and Stanley Thompson are well presented by their respective clubs today with modern updates and restorative work by the likes of Jim Urbina, Riley Johns, Dan Philcox, and more. While most of the best golf is concentrated around Winnipeg, Clear Lake Golf Course, in Riding Mountain National Park is a similarly adventurous routing to that of its National Park’s cousin, Waskesiu, in Prince Albert National Park, Saskatchewan.

Must Play

Elmhurst
Elmhurst Private

Elmhurst carries the unmistakable identify of Donald Ross across its layout. Featuring subtly contoured greens, deep, classic cut bunkering, and a gently rolling terrain that serves to provide a thoughfully crafted golf course that flies under the radar nationally.

St. Charles
St. Charles Private

Alister MacKenzie designed just nine holes in Canada, which can be found paired alongside nine holes from Donald Ross at St. Charles. The largely flat property captivates with its tricky green complexes and stylistic bunkering.
