Saskatchewan

Saskatchewan would largely be considered a fly-over province for many golfers headed West to the Rockies, or East to Ontario or Nova Scotia. But the reality is that this province offers nearly a pound-for-pound match with Canada’s other main golfing attractions. Leading the charge is Waskesiu a delightful J.H Atkinson design in the heart of Prince Albert National Park that will astound nearly any golfer who visits. But that’s not the only outstanding golf course on recommendation. Cooke Municipal, one of Canada’s best municipal golf course’s, is an inspiring but low-key design that lets the land do most of the talking with unique agronomy practices that lend their hand to affordable golf without the frills or disappointing conditioning issues one might expect at your local muni. And Dakota Dunes is a notable design in a large swath of sand dunes south of Saskatoon that has numerous inspiring features, like its firm and fast conditions. Saskatchewan may not be your first choice for a golf destination but it should be a consideration.
